Robert Boute’s research focuses on digital operations, supply chain management, sustainable logistics, operational excellence and re-shoring manufacturing. His recent work includes the use of AI in inventory control and predictive analytics for maintenance optimisation.
Robert Boute is Professor Operations Management at Vlerick Business School. He teaches operations and supply chain management in the degree programs at Vlerick (both full time and executive MBA).
He was named one of the 40 best professors under 40 by Poets & Quants in 2016 – and was laureate of the 2017 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and Management Sciences.
Robert teaches MBA, executive and customised programmes. He received the best paper award for his research on supply chain coordination and has won several best teacher awards.
