Dr. Murat Kristal

Dr. Murat Kristal is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005. Dr. Kristal is the founding director of Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence Programs at Schulich. Currently he serves as the director of MBA in Technology Leadership Program at Schulich. In 2016, he was named one of the Top 40 Professors under 40. In 2020, he was the recipient of the Award of Excellence from Minister of Colleges and Universities, Ontario, Canada. He has published in top Operations Management Journals throughout his career, and he works with various companies in North America and Europe to help them achieve their analytics, AI, and digital transformation goals.

Dr. Kristal has completed projects in resource allocation in manufacturing, the impact of competition on supply chain, and the development of mass customization capabilities through organizational learning and knowledge management. Channeling his passion for analytics and artificial intelligence, he pioneered the first analytics programs of its kind in Canada. His expertise in innovation, ideation and research is evident through his distinct ability to connect business problems with analytical and AI solutions.
